The friendly rivalry between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds is legendary, and these are some of their best trolls against one another.

Ryan Reynolds broke the internet when he revealed not only the release date of Deadpool 3 but also that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine, teaming up with Deadpool once and for all. Fans have been wanting this legendary team-up to happen after years of speculations and subtle hints, and now it seems they finally got their wish.

The circumstance of this announcement couldn't have been any more perfect had it not been for Reynolds and Jackman's pre-existing entanglement in the online sphere. A big part of the dynamic between Reynolds and Jackman is their friendly rivalry, which has continued through both actors hilariously trolling one another over the years — and towards the exciting Deadpool 3 triumph.

The perfect time that Reynolds and Jackman troll each other comes on birthdays. On Jackman's 53rd birthday, Reynolds had a very special message he shared via TikTok.

In the short video, with "A Million Dreams" from Jackman's The Greatest Showman playing in the background, Reynolds reveals that he made socks printed with Jackman's face on them and a video caption that read, "Socks to be Hugh." Jackman responded with his own video thanking fans for birthday wishes and telling everyone that Reynolds had "darned" the socks himself and that, if fans asked him, he could make them a pair, or he could give them the ones he wore.

In a rare serious role for Reynolds, he and Jackman appeared in a video together to call a "truce" to their "feud," which featured both actors making promotional videos for the other's company — Aviation Gin and Laughing Man Coffee, respectively. But Jackman had other plans in mind.

While Reynolds went all out with his commercial for Laughing Man Coffee, Jackman's video promoting Aviation Gin simply featured Jackman tipping over a bottle of Aviation Gin onto a table and letting it run out. Reynolds appeared stunned that Jackman would betray the truce like this, especially after he put in such hard work on the Laughing Man Coffee Commercial. Jackman's response was, "I didn't think the truce was actually real."

In 2020, Jackman and several other X-Men actors, including Patrick Stewart and Halle Berry, met on Zoom for an X-Men reunion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first X-Men movie. But, it was a reunion that Reynolds promptly crashed.

Not only did Reynolds crash the reunion himself, but he brought James McAvoy and Sophie Turner alongside him. Shortly after this, the cast members all left to go to other reunions, leaving Jackman and Reynolds alone together in the call. Reynolds then realized, to Jackman's horror, that this now made it a reunion for a guilty pleasure comic book movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Jackman's horror and Reynold's delight increased when fellow X-Men Origins actor Liev Schreiber joined the call.

On Logan's third anniversary, Jackman posted to social media about it and thanked fans for the experience after formally retiring from the role in 2017. This, of course, left him wide open for an epic tomfoolery from Reynolds.

Following Jackman's post, Reynolds made a social media post of his own, sharing a scene from Deadpool 2 that poked fun at Wolverine's demise in Logan. This post was accompanied by an equally hilarious caption that made fun of the movie and Jackman himself, proving that both men will take any chance they can get to banter one another in their ongoing friendly feud.

Fans absolutely loved it when Reynolds jested Jackman by wearing a mask of him in Deadpool. So, to call it even, Jackman knew just how to respond.

Posting to Instagram, Jackman covered his face with a Ryan Reynolds mask and proceeded to tease Reynolds in various ways to celebrate Reynolds' star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The burns in the video included various jabs at Reynolds, such as mentioning that Jackman was People's Sexiest Man Alive long before Reynolds and that Reynolds was the star of "The 12th Best DC Comics Movie, Green Lantern."

In yet another high jinks on Jackman's birthday, Reynolds prepared a special video for him for his 50th birthday during Jackman's The Man. The Music. The Show. concert in Indianapolis.

After Jackman made a quick jab at Reynolds, the Deadpool actor suddenly appeared on a screen, saying, "I was just going to wish you a Happy Birthday. Then I saw what you did. In a word, 'hurtful." He then sang "Happy Birthday" to Jackman while his crew came out onto the stage. Reynolds ended this seemingly peaceful moment after the song with an expletive message for Jackman before signing off, with his trolling duties complete.

Reynolds has great on-screen comedy chemistry with Jackman, but that doesn't mean he's safe from Reynolds' shenanigans - no matter the occasion. This included Hugh Jackman's wedding anniversary.

On his 24th anniversary with Deborra-Lee Furness, Jackman posted a heartfelt message to Instagram with an old photo of the couple. Reynolds, never missing a chance to ruin anything heartfelt coming from Jackman, added a hilarious comment to the post telling Furness to "hang in there."

Ryan Reynolds' recent movie, Free Guy, got an official poster years before the film actually released in 2021. This poster quickly became the subject of another priceless antic from Jackman.

Jackman shared the work of a fan who modified the Free Guy poster, so it featured Jackman's face over Reynolds' as well as promoting Jackman's coffee company. In response to this, Reynolds found a second fan poster created by the same fan that parodied Jackman's movie, The Greatest Showman, only this poster featured Reynolds and Aviation Gin.

There's no doubt that Logan is one of the best X-Men movies ever made, but that has not stopped Reynolds from mocking it.

When Jackman posted to Twitter about murals celebrating the movie popping up in Australia, Reynolds took the time to comment, "I have one of these murals on the hood of my car. Best decision ever." The implication of this comment is immediately clear, and it just serves as yet another comical moment in the never-ending battle between Jackman and Reynolds to see who can out troll the other.

In one of the most epic pranks in the Reynolds-Jackman feud, Jackman managed to score a major victory - with a little help from Jake Gyllenhaal.

Gyllenhaal and Jackman duo seemingly convinced Reynolds that the party they were attending was an ugly sweater party. But when Reynolds arrived in his ugly sweater, he discovered that he had been tricked, with him being the only one wearing an ugly sweater. Later on, being the good sport that he is, Jackman was also photographed wearing the same sweater, showing that the two men are still the best of friends, even when trolling one another.
