The Little Bit Foundation (Little Bit), a St. Louis-based nonprofit working to empower under-resourced students to succeed in the classroom and beyond, has announced that it will hold a donation drive in partnership with all St. Louis area Chick-Fil-A restaurants and St. Louis County Library locations.

The drive is being held in response to catastrophic flooding in July, which resulted in significant damage to Little Bit’s headquarters in Brentwood and the loss of more than 90% of its student essentials less than a month from the start of the school year. See impact of disaster here.  This includes over 20,000 square feet of shoes, clothing, books and other student essentials. The aim of the drive is to help replenish the organization’s supply of boys’ and girls’ socks and underwear (all sizes), travel and full-size hygiene and period products, and school supplies.  In the last school year, Little Bit distributed over 430,000 essential items, serving 14,000 students across the St. Louis area.

“We’ve lost a lot, but we’re still hopeful for the future,” says Miranda Walker Jones, Chief Executive Officer of The Little Bit Foundation. “Our 48 partner schools depend on The Little Bit Foundation to help provide the basic essentials students need for success in the classroom and to feel confident and ready to learn, so we are working very hard to get back to full operation. We are so encouraged by and grateful for the community’s support and especially to our incredible partners at Chick-fil-A and the St. Louis County Library for hosting this drive for us.”
