Alexandria, Va. — SHRM (the Society for Human Resource Management) has announced that John's Crazy Socks co-founders — John Cronin and his father Mark X. Cronin will join a roster of top-tier professional voices as part of the SHRM Speakers Bureau.

Their inspiring presentations will focus on demonstrating the power of happiness to create engaging environments for employees with differing abilities to thrive and positively impact the workplace and the world in general. More than just engaging speakers, they are entrepreneurs, philanthropists, humanitarians, and leaders. They are champions of the mission: to spread happiness and impact audiences through their inspiring story of entrepreneurship, along with deeper stories of resilience in the face of adversity. John, who also has Down syndrome, found his affinity for crazy socks paired with his love of making people smile made their mission clear: they want to spread happiness.

More than half their employees have a differing ability and every day they show what people with differing abilities can do. They are fierce advocates for people of differing abilities and have testified twice before the U.S. Congress and spoken at the United Nations.

They are winners of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year and the Monsignor Thomas J. Hartman Humanitarian of the Year Award. They have wowed audiences including Microsoft, EY, Bank of America, SHRM and Campbell Snacks as well as universities across the U.S. and Canada. They have given two TEDx talks and have been featured on national and local broadcasts by ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, and Fox News.

The SHRM Speakers Bureau offers a wide variety of speakers with thought leadership and expertise on the most pressing workplace issues of today and the future, and acts as a premier partner to SHRM chapters nationwide.

"In today's ever-changing world of work, the work force is at its best when it is not only diverse in thought but also offers opportunities to those with differing abilities," said Kathy Harris, Director, SHRM Speakers Bureau. "We must continue fighting for diverse, inclusive workplaces, because the future of the American workforce depends on sustainable employment opportunities for all."

"We are excited for this opportunity to speak with human resource professionals," said Mark X. Cronin. "Every day, we want to show what is possible, to show how organizations can spread happiness, to show what people with differing abilities can do. And we know it is the human resource leaders who can bring this message to their organizations."

John Cronin added, "I love the opportunity to meet so many people to show what's possible, to show that Down syndrome never holds me back."
