Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb was confused by high uniform violation fines

Frisco, Texas-including Earl CeeDee Lamb.

"Actually, very surprised," he said Wednesday afternoon. "Surprised."

The Cowboys receiver has not been fined once or twice this season.

No, five times this season the league has charged Lamb for uniform violations, suspected taunting incidents, and illegal blocking.

The lamb's fines are piled up like a mountain. Knocking on two $5,150 non-pleated jerseys? Another $5,150 lamb socks are too low? According to multiple reports, including ESPN's Adam Schefter, after Lamb won a touchdown in overtime in New England on October 17, his end zone wave cost him $10,300.

At the same time, the Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers was fined $14,650 for repeatedly violating the league's policy on the COVID-19 agreement. Someone asked Lamb on Wednesday whether this difference annoyed him.

"Beat me? No," Lamb said. "Confused me? Very so. I just don't understand why I always get fined for some reason. Unfolded jersey. Socks are too low.

"I don't know, brother. I don't know."

Lamb has stepped up efforts to discuss his uniform with officials before the game to get a closer look at his compliance with the uniform agreement, although he prefers to focus on his route, game plan, and contribution to the team's chances of winning. The second-year receiver said that his attitude towards uniforms is no different from last season. However, during his rookie campaign with 935 yards and five touchdowns, he was not fined.

So what will he do?

"To be honest, I don't know what I need to do," Lamb said. "I just know I know this better. Whenever I have a chance, if I feel a breeze in my stomach or any back tackle or anything, I think I have to bow my head and pull the jersey down. Something like that. It's kind of weird.

"It's weird, considering that next time my jersey is not buttoned, I heard that I will be fined $50,000 or something. It's weird."

According to ESPN, an unfolded uniform that was subsequently noticed would cost Lamb $46,350.

Lamb said that in the last two games of the Cowboys against the Vikings and Broncos, he did not receive any notice of fines. He also questioned the safety of the Vikings. Harrison Smith did not impose a fine on Lamb's belief that Smith choked him at the end of the game.

"Considering that I was fined, what is that, wave? I don't know. It was crazy for me to suffocate on the sidelines at the time," Lamb said. "The referee said his thumb was stuck in my helmet. It's crazy. That's nonsense.

"I know what it feels like to be choked. I was choked."

In lighter circumstances, Lamb mocked recipient Amali Cooper's criticism that Lamb lost a fine of tens of thousands of dollars. Cooper asked Lamb if he didn't like money?

"I would say the same, considering that I had given up all the money at the time, and had been fined for six and six consecutive games," Lamb said. "But I do like money.

"For those who don't know, I do like money."
