The parents of a former Pass Christian soccer player filed a lawsuit against the high school, claiming a history of ignoring complaints of harassment and bullying.

A lawsuit filed in May describes the alleged abuse a 15-year-old former Pass Christian student endured during the 2020 and 2022 school year.

The 26-page complaint filed by the teen’s parents involves the Pass Christian School District, Jones College, the assistant principal of Pass Christian High Jedediah ‘Jed’ Mooney and five minors.

The teen has a rare skin condition called Darier Disease, which causes skin flare ups and irritation anytime the skin comes into contact with contaminants.

Acts of stealing the victim’s money, putting icy hot or bleach in the students socks and shoes, dragging their shirt or jersey in the mud, and contaminating clothing so his clothes would irritate his skin condition causing him physical pain and mental anguish.

According to the complaint, while attending soccer camp at Jones Community College between June 16 and 19th on four different occasions the victim was forcibly stripped of all his clothing by soccer team members and recorded on social media.

Two students ejaculated into a bowl and poured the contents on the victim’s face, this act was recorded and shared on social media.

Once home from camp bullying continued by the same students and the victim’s parents informed Pass Christian School District of the attacks. The lawsuit reports no action was taken by the school district to protect the victim.

Pass Christian School Superintendent Dr. Carla J. Evers issued this statement, saying: “In the Pass Christian Public School District, we believe all students excel when they are accepted, valued, and safe. Actions concerning the event were handled in accordance with our code of conduct. As this is an ongoing legal and student matter, we will refrain from further comment.”

The lawyer on the case, Christopher Van Cleave, tells News 25 they are still collecting cell phone evidence of these attacks from students.

The victim’s parents are asking for civil damages for the boy’s emotional and physical pain, ongoing medical treatment, and more.
